Paraguay must work harder - Gerardo Martino
Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino is demanding more hard work from his players ahead of the World Cup if they are going to be able to compete.
"I have been to South Africa before. I think now we know what to expect. We have been preparing well for this World Cup. I believe we will be in good condition for the first game," said Martino to fifa.com.
"We will be trying to do our best to prepare for our game against Italy, which should be tough. We are aware that this is going to be a difficult tournament for everyone, but we need to work harder and make sure we qualify for the next round."
Paraguay beat fellow qualifiers Greece 2-0 in a friendly match in Winterthur, Switzerland on Wednesday. Goals from Enrique Vera and Lucas Barrios put it beyond the Eueo 2004 winners and they will be confident going into Group F up against Italy, New Zealand and Slovakia.
